ART AND SCULPTURE

When a pandemic hits and many full time teachers take a leave of absence, who do you call? A long term substitute.
The below artworks were created by various high school students in the "Studio Art and Design" "2D Art and Design" and "Sculpture" classes I ran during the 4 months I was a long term sub for Greater Egg harbor Regional High School District's Cedar Creek high school. I created different units and corresponding projects the students could complete in a virtual learning setting.
*NONE OF THESE ART WORKS WHERE MADE BY ME, RATHER THE STUDENT LISTED UNDER THE WORK FOR VARIOUS ASSIGNMENTS CREATED AND ASSIGNED BY ME*
ABCs of the Holidays
Each student chose a letter of the alphabet and had to create a sentence and full page illustration for it. As the project was assigned in December the submission had to be winter holiday themed in some way. Students were allowed to use any medium as long as it was fully colored.
Holiday Houses
After craft units of paper and cardboard students were asked to create a house out of cardboard and to decorate it with art supplies - at least one thing out of paper and one out of paper mâché. Students first had to submit a mood board about what holiday they would be decorating for. As the project was assigned in December and due just before break, majority did Christmas.
Cardboard Busts
One of the major projects for our cardboard units, students had to create a bust entirely out of cardboard. They could chose to do either a human or animal. Interior slot structures were needed first so the constructs wouldn't collapse.
