Communication Art

The below art artworks were created by various high school students in the "Communication Art" class I ran during the 6 months I was a long term sub for Union County Vocational Technology Schools. This class was a mix of traditional and digital art and was taught in a virtual and hybrid setting. Below are the different projects the students did with me in the 3rd and 4th marking periods and some of the best results.
*NONE OF THESE ART WORKS WHERE MADE BY ME, RATHER THE STUDENT LISTED UNDER THE WORK FOR VARIOUS ASSIGNMENTS CREATED AND ASSIGNED BY ME*
Elements of Art Booklet
Each student chose an object to illustrate in the style of each element of art:
Line - Color - Value - Texture - Shape - Space - Form
They had the option of doing the project either digitally or physically.
Vaccine Stickers
The is vaccines rolling out students created designs for different stickers that could be handed out after getting vaccinated. Students first had to submit a mood board with research images and intent inspiration. At the time this project was assigned the only vaccines available were Pfizer and Moderna.
Perspective Rooms
A major project after the perspective unit, students had to design and draw their dream room in perspective. Level 1 students had to do 1-point perspective while Level 2 students did 2-point perspective. Before starting students had to create mood boards with inspiration or style and items they planned on putting in their rooms.
Genre Bend
A major project in illustration where students chose an animated Disney character, changed the genre of the movie, and then redesigned the character to fir in the new genre,
ABCs of 2020
Let's face it, 2020 was a mess. But so much happened, how can you remember it all? The 2 classes worked together to create an ABC book to remind you of what happened. They each chose a letter of the alphabet, wrote a page about something from 2020 that started with that letter, then illustrated it.
Digital Self Portrait College
Students used their abilities of keying, cutting out, and compositing to create collaged self portraits of themselves illustrating what is important to them.
